MetroED, the largest career-oriented educational organization in Santa Clara County is committed to serving the educational needs of its diverse high school and adult populations. Annually we assist more than 20,000 students in obtaining the skills needed for them to be productive, income-earning and tax-paying contributors to Santa Clara County.
MetroED’s theme for this year is, “We’re Raising the Bar Together!” This theme will encompass all that we do in meeting our District’s organizational goals.
As Superintendent and leader of this organization, I am committed to Raising the Bar in four major areas: Customer Service, Student Success, Professional Development, and Quality Programs. Our administrative team, teachers and classified support people are ready and capable of making MetroED a better place for our customers, students and employees.
All employees’ work at MetroED is guided by a set of vision statements and measurable goals annually approved by our Governing Board.
The vision statements are:
Vision Statement 1: The Metropolitan Education District is an organization that facilitates student learning through research-based teaching practices, accountability data and continual measurement of student achievement.
Vision Statement 2: Metropolitan Education District programs and services are known, respected and meet the needs of its key constituencies, including students, educational partners, business, industry and community.
Vision Statement 3: The Metropolitan Education District has a culture characterized by a high level of employee professionalism, teamwork, continual staff improvement, an appreciation of diversity, a supportive work environment and effective utilization of resources.
We are very proud of the programs and opportunities that we provide for the community. I encourage and welcome community members to see our campus and to visit our excellent programs at any time by contacting my office.
Another way in which I invite community members to participate is by encouraging people to take an active role in making and keeping MetroED’s programs viable. You can participate by joining the Superintendent’s Key Communicator Network. If you would like information on how to become a Key Communicator, please click here. I welcome your active engagement.
